కుటుంబానికి చేదోడువాదోడుగా ఉంటూనే ఎన్ఆర్కే ప్రభుత్వ ఆర్ట్స్ కళాశాలలో ఎమ్మెస్సీ కెమిస్ట్రీ ప్రథమ సంవత్సరంలో చదువుతున్న ఈ విద్యార్థి తండ్రి రెండేళ్ల క్రితం బ్రెయిన్ స్ట్రోక్ రావడంతో ఇంటి వద్దే ఉంటున్నారు. తల్లి గృహిణి. సోదరి పీజీ చదువుతున్నారు.
స్థానిక పాల దుకాణంలో పనిచేస్తున్న రాజా రోజూ రెండు పూటలా ఇంటింటికీ పాలు సరఫరా చేసి నెలకు రూ.5వేలు సంపాదిస్తున్నాడు. అమ్మమ్మ అందించే ఆర్థిక సహకారంతో తన జీతంతో కుటుంబాన్ని నెట్టుకొస్తున్నారు.
ఎస్ఐగా ఎంపికవడం తనకు చాలా సంతోషంగా ఉందని ఆ యువకుడు పేర్కొన్నారు. మనసు, మాట, చేత ఒకటిగా ఉంటే విజయం సాధ్యమని స్వామి వివేకానందుడు చెప్పిన మాటలు తనలో ధైర్యాన్ని నింపి వెన్నుదన్నుగా నిలిచాయని తెలిపారు.
ఎన్డీయే కూటమి వైఫల్యాలపై ప్రజల్ని చైతన్యపరిచే లక్ష్యంతో కాంగ్రెస్ తలపెట్టిన పాదయాత్ర ‘వాక్ ఫర్ యానాం’ మంగళవారం యానాంలో సాగింది. స్థానిక సుబ్రహ్మణ్యభారతి వీధిలోని కాంగ్రెస్ కార్యాలయం నుంచి ప్రారంభమైన యాత్రలో పీసీసీ అధ్యక్షుడు, ఎంపీ వి.వైదిలింగం, మాజీ సీఎం వి.నారాయణస్వామి, ఎమ్మెల్యే వైద్యానాథన్‌, కార్తికేయన్‌, ఇళయరాజా పాల్గొన్నారు.
యానాం బ్లాక్ కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షుడు అర్ధాని దినేష్, ఇన్‌ఛార్జి కాటంశెట్టి రామమూర్తి, విజ్జపు చిన్ని, మేధానినిశర్మ యాత్రను నిర్వహించారు.
పాదయాత్ర అనంతరం జీఎంసీ బాలయోగి స్టేడియంలో జరిగిన బహిరంగ సభలో కాంగ్రెస్ నేతలు ఢిల్లీ ప్రత్యేక ప్రతినిధి మల్లాడి కృష్ణారావును తీవ్రంగా విమర్శించారు. మల్లాడి తన వ్యక్తిగత అభివృద్ధి తప్ప ప్రజల సంక్షేమం పట్టదని ఎంపీ వైదిలింగం ఆరోపించారు.
వచ్చే ఎన్నికల్లో “మల్లాడి గో బ్యాక్” ప్రజల నినాదం కావాలన్నారు. గత ఐదేళ్లలో యానాంలో అభివృద్ధి జరగలేదని మాజీ సీఎం వి.నారాయణస్వామి అన్నారు. యానాం అభివృద్ధిని మల్లాడి అడ్డుకుంటున్నారన్నారు.
యానాం ఎమ్మెల్యే గొల్లపల్లి శ్రీనివాస్ అశోక్ గో బ్యాక్ నినాదాలు సరికాదని ఒక ప్రకటనలో పేర్కొన్నారు. సమస్యల పరిష్కారం కోసం పోరాడాలే తప్ప ఎవరినో ఒకరిని నిందించడం సరికాదని అన్నారు. ఇలాంటి నిరసన విధానాలు మనకే నష్టం చేస్తాయని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
While supporting his family, Kumar Raja is pursuing his first-year M.Sc. Chemistry at NRK Government Arts College. His father suffered a brain stroke two years ago and remains at home. His mother is a homemaker, and his sister is pursuing postgraduate studies.
Raja works at a local milk shop, delivering milk twice daily and earning ₹5,000 per month. With financial support from his grandmother and his income, he sustains his family.
He expressed happiness upon being selected as a Sub-Inspector. He said Swami Vivekananda’s words — “If mind, speech, and action become one, success is certain” — inspired him and gave him courage.
The Congress party organized a padayatra titled “Walk for Yanam” to raise awareness about the alleged failures of the NDA alliance. The march began from the Congress office on Subrahmanya Bharati Street. PCC President and MP V. Vaithilingam, former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, MLA Vaidyanathan, Karthikeyan, and Ilayaraja participated.
Yanam Block Congress President Ardani Dinesh, in-charge Katamsetti Ramamurthy, Vijjapu Chinni, and Medanini Sharma organized the event.
At a public meeting held at GMC Balayogi Stadium after the march, Congress leaders criticized Delhi Special Representative Malladi Krishnarao. MP Vaithilingam alleged that Malladi is concerned only about personal growth rather than public welfare.
They claimed that no development had taken place in Yanam over the past five years and accused Malladi of obstructing progress.
Yanam MLA Gollapalli Srinivas Ashok stated that raising “Go Back” slogans for political reasons is inappropriate. He emphasized focusing on solving public issues instead of blaming individuals and remarked that such protests could harm the region itself.
