World Consumer Rights Day – 15 March

World Consumer Rights Day – 15 March: History, Consumer Rights and Protection Laws

World Consumer Rights Day is celebrated globally on March 15 to empower consumers and highlight their rights against unfair trade practices, defective products and misleading advertisements.

The day promotes awareness about consumer protection laws, responsible business practices and fair trade while protecting buyers from exploitation.

History and Origin of World Consumer Rights Day

World Consumer Rights Day was first celebrated in 1983 by Consumers International. The date marks US President John F. Kennedy’s historic speech to the US Congress on March 15, 1962.
